EMDR therapy in Colorado Springs
EMDR helps your brain finish processing memories and beliefs that got stuck, using bilateral stimulation while you hold the memory in mind.
I'm Sarah Post Massey, a licensed marriage and family therapist in Colorado Springs, and I offer it two ways: woven into ongoing weekly sessions, or as a concentrated four-week intensive.
Weekly EMDR
Most of my EMDR work happens inside regular fifty-minute sessions, alongside the rest of what we're doing together.
This fits people who want EMDR as part of a broader, ongoing process rather than a defined block of time, or who aren't ready to commit to an intensive's pace.
EMDR intensives available
If you want focused, concentrated progress on a specific memory or belief, my EMDR intensives runs two 90-minute sessions a week for four weeks, built around your workweek instead of a full day off.
Eight sessions total for $2,000, with a $500 weekly payment plan available.
How you'll know it's working
Whichever format you choose, you start with a baseline assessment and we check it again partway through and at the end, so you can see what's actually shifting.

A consultation is a short call to talk through what you're working on and whether weekly or intensive EMDR fits better.
Questions about EMDR
-
Pace and structure. Weekly EMDR moves alongside everything else we're working on, over an open timeline. The intensive is a defined four-week block built for focused progress on something specific.
-
No. You hold the memory in mind during processing, but you don't need to narrate it the way you would in traditional talk therapy.

As a private pay therapist, I am out of network with insurance providers, Medicaid, and Medicare. You'll receive a Good Faith Estimate of costs before your first session.
