EMDR intensives in Colorado Springs
If you carry trauma-related distress, get triggered by things connected to the past, or live with beliefs like I'm not safe or I'm not enough, an EMDR intensive gives you focused, personalized support.
I'm Sarah Post Massey, a licensed marriage and family therapist in Colorado Springs, and I built this program for people who need more than a weekly fifty-minute session but can't take a full day off work for a retreat-style intensive.
A format built around your workweek
Most EMDR intensives in Colorado Springs use full-day or half-day blocks.
My program uses a different structure: two 90-minute sessions a week for four weeks, eight sessions total, scheduled around your job.
Preparation, coping skills, trauma processing, and integration all happen inside that structure, paced to what you're ready for each week.
How much do EMDR intensives cost?
Eight sessions cost $2,000 total.
If you prefer to spread the cost out, I offer a payment plan of $500 a week.
A consultation comes first, so we can both decide whether this format fits what you need.
What happens during the four weeks
Assessment and preparation
We explore your history, build a timeline of the experiences that matter, name your goals, and build coping resources you can use right away.
Processing
We work through the distressing memories, emotions, and beliefs using EMDR, with check-ins throughout so the pace stays yours.
Integration and next steps
We review what's changed, continue processing anything still active, and talk through how to carry what you've learned into daily life.
Each week includes two 90-minute sessions. Preparation and support continue through all four weeks.
Is an EMDR intensive the right format for you?
This format tends to fit you if:
You have a specific memory, event, or belief you want to work through
You want dedicated time for trauma work without rearranging your whole week around one marathon session
You have done some therapy already and are ready to process difficult memories directly
You can commit to two sessions a week for four weeks
If your trauma is complex or layered, four weeks may begin the work without finishing it. I will tell you honestly in the consultation if that's the case for you.
